Tyson Fury has warned he could be disqualified against Oleksandr Usyk

Tyson Fury has been warned by former opponent Steve Cunningham that he could be disqualified in his upcoming undisputed world heavyweight title fight against Oleksandr Usyk.

The fight was originally scheduled for February, but had to be postponed after Fury suffered a cut during training.

Fury hopes to perform better than he did in his last bout against former UFC champion Francis Ngannou, where he was knocked down and won by just one point.

Cunningham told World Boxing News: “I think Ngannou looked as good as he did fighting Fury because Fury wasn’t serious about fighting an MMA guy. Ngannou has incredible power though. I wasn’t surprised at all by that, but not by the fact that Fury rose up and overtook him.

Fury and Cunningham fought over ten years ago, with Fury recovering from a knockdown to win by stoppage. Cunningham added: “I think Usyk wins by decision against Fury. Either that or Fury will be disqualified. Fury will have to lean and lay over Usyk to tire him out like he usually does. I think the referee will be warned about this beforehand. fight (by Team Usyk) and Fury will lose points.”

The winner of Fury or Usyk will be the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis in 1999. Six judges may score their fight to avoid any judging issues, the Mirror reports.

WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman is worried about a bad score spoiling the fight and suggested this big change.

If Fury beats Usyk, he could finally face Anthony Joshua after years of waiting. Joshua did something Fury didn’t by knocking out Ngannou in his last fight.
