Mark Lawrenson makes a sure score prediction for Sheffield United vs Spurs – The Spurs Web

Mark Lawrenson believes Tottenham will end the season on a high by comfortably seeing off Sheffield United in the final game of the season.

Spurs now know they won’t be in next season’s Champions League, with their loss against Manchester City on Tuesday ensuring Aston Villa will finish fourth.

It’s been a hugely disappointing end to the season for the Lilywhites, who stumble across the finish line having lost five of their last six Premier League games.

However, their clash at Bramall Lane is far from a dead rubber, with Ange Postecoglou’s men needing at least a point to secure a fifth-place finish and Europa League football.

Should Tottenham lose against Chelsea-allied Blades, beating Bournemouth and Man Utd upsetting Man City in the FA Cup final, it would mean Spurs would be relegated to the Europa Conference League next season.

Chris Wilder’s side have conceded a record 101 Premier League goals this season, a number Tottenham will be hoping to add to.

Sheffield United vs Tottenham score prediction

However, Lawrenson believes Tottenham will have no problem handing over Chris Wilder’s men on Saturday.

The pundit told Paddy Power: “Tottenham have had very difficult games recently against Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City.

“That’s exactly what you want at the end of the season when you’re going after things! They will win this, though. Prediction: Sheffield United 0-2 Tottenham.”

Despite this being Tottenham’s final top-flight game of the 23/24 season, their campaign is far from over after the club set up a post-season friendly in Australia against fellow Premier League side Newcastle United at Melbourne Cricket Ground on Wednesday Ground.

Spurs Web Opinion

It will be pretty embarrassing if we finish below Chelsea given the gap between the two clubs just a month ago.

We desperately need to end the season with a win to ensure there is some optimism around the club in what will be a crucial summer transfer window.
