NC Insurance Commissioner for Aids and Claims Helene

After Hurricane Helene’s devastation in western North Carolina, the state stepped in to rescue survivors and provide food, water and emergency supplies. Also, the state Department of Insurance began sending staff to help residents file insurance claims. Digital insurance spoke with Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey on Oct. 1 about his department’s efforts. He described the challenges of getting help from FEMA.
