Judge releases prosecutors’ evidence against Trump in Jan. 6 case

The federal judge overseeing the election interference case against Donald Trump has released a 165-page motion from prosecutors detailing a trove of new evidence against the former president.

United States District Court Judge Tanya Chutkan released the motion by special counsel Jack Smith after Smith and his team hit Trump with a revised indictment that keeps the same four counts against him.

Trump is charged with four counts of interfering with the 2020 election. These charges allege that he conspired to defraud the United States, conspired to prevent the certification of election vote counts, obstructed that certification, and conspired to defraud voters of the right to have their votes counted.

This is breaking news and will be updated.
