Japanese stocks are up at the close; The Nikkei 225 rose 2.01% Via Investing.com

Investing.com – Japan stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Tokyo, it added 2.01%.

The best performers of the session on the were M3 Inc (TYO: ), which rose 9.93% or 145.00 points to trade at 1,605.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma Co Ltd (TYO: ) added 8.91% or 53.00 points to end at 648.00 and Ajinomoto Co., Inc. (TYO: ) was up 5.58% or 306.00 points to end at 5,786.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Pacific Metals Co., Ltd. (TYO: ), which decreased 1.73% or 25.00 points to trade at 1,423.00 at the close. Nitori Holdings Co Ltd (TYO: ) declined 1.59% or 335.00 points to end at 20,715.00 and Japan exchange group Inc (TYO: ) declined 1.44% or 27.50 points to 1,877.00.

Advancers outnumbered decliners on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2540 to 1052, with 260 ending unchanged.

Crude oil for November delivery rose 1.53%, or 1.07, to $71.17 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodity trading, Brent crude for December delivery rose 1.35% or 1.00 to $74.90 a barrel, while December gold futures rose 0.21 % or 5.50 to $2,675.20 per troy ounce.

USD/JPY rose 0.18% to 146.72, while EUR/JPY rose 0.03% to 161.83.

US dollar index futures rose 0.20% to 101.63.
