Tottenham confirm squad against Sheffield Utd – Postecoglou makes change as Kulusevski starts

Ange Postecoglou has made a change to his Tottenham XI to face Sheffield United on the final day of the 2023/24 Premier League season. In midweek action, Spurs slipped to a 2-0 defeat at home to Man City after Erling Haaland’s second-half brace.

The result means a top-four finish is now off the table for Spurs, with Aston Villa securing a place in next season’s Champions League following defeat to Tottenham. Heading into Sunday’s game at Bramall Lane, the Lilywhites can wrap up fifth in the table and the Europa League spot that comes with it.

A point is all Postecoglou’s side need to finish fifth. However, defeat in South Yorkshire also opens the door for Chelsea to overtake their London rivals as they are currently three points behind on a better goal difference.

After the midweek defeat against Man City, Postecoglou brought Dejan Kulusevski into his starting XI to face Sheffield United. Guglielmo Vicario starts in goal, with a back four consisting of Pedro Porro, Cristian Romero, Radu Drăgușin and Micky van de Ven.

Postecoglou changed things up in midfield with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg dropping his side. That means Rodrigo Bentancur, Pape Matar Sarr and James Maddison are his midfield trio of choice to face the Blades.

In attack, Son Heung-min starts in the middle again with no experienced strikers available. Kulusevski and Brennan Johnson start either side of the Tottenham captain.
