Missing Cannon Hill Park boys found safe after massive police search

Two boys who went missing in one of Birmingham’s most popular parks have been found safe after a massive police search. The West Midlands force raised the alarm earlier this afternoon after the pair, named only as ten-year-old Bilal and 12-year-old Abu, went missing in Cannon Hill Park.

In a clearly worried tone, officers appealed on social media for help from anyone who may have seen them like thousands of people as families enjoyed the sun. The force posted on X: “Have you seen Abu and Bilal? The children, aged 12 and ten, were last seen in Cannon Hill Park today and we are concerned for their safety.

“We have a number of resources in the area at the moment looking for them and are asking anyone who sees them or thinks they have seen them to call 999 immediately, quoting log number 2218 of May 19.”

But a few hours later, a post on the same platform brought good news. It read: “Ten-year-old Bilal and 12-year-old Abu, missing, have just been found safe and well. Thank you for your concern and for sharing our appeal.”

It was not known where they were found or how they originally disappeared.
