The Frontier Airlines plane made an emergency landing after an engine caught fire

Federal authorities said Sunday they are investigating the emergency landing of a Frontier Airlines plane in Las Vegas.

The Federal Aviation Administration said Frontier Flight 1326 from San Diego, with 190 passengers on board, was landing Saturday afternoon at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas when the crew reported smoke in the cabin and declared a emergency.

In a statement, the FAA said emergency crews at the airport extinguished a fire in the plane’s right engine after it landed.

Witnesses at the airport reported seeing flames and smoke coming from the underside of the plane.

Border officials said no injuries were reported and all passengers plus seven crew members exited the plane using the stairs and were taken to the terminal.

The National Transportation Safety Board announced Sunday that it has launched an investigation into the incident along with the FAA.
