Man City are eyeing a clear dig at Liverpool after winning another Premier League title

Manchester City were confirmed as Premier League champions for the fourth consecutive season on the final day and couldn’t resist pulling off an upset against former title rivals Liverpool.

Man City fired at Liverpool after winning the Premier League

Manchester City mocked Liverpool’s ‘This Means More’ slogan on social media after being crowned Premier League champions.

Pep Guardiola’s side were handed the title on the final day of the season with a 3-1 win over West Ham. It now means they have become the first team to win four consecutive Premier League titles.

As the final whistle kicked off the festivities at the Etihad, the Blues’ social media team couldn’t resist former title rivals Liverpool. The club tweeted “THIS MEANS FOUR”, alongside four trophy emojis, in what appears to be a direct response to the Reds’ club motto “This Means More”.

It also follows an exchange of words between City striker Erling Haaland and Trent Alexander-Arnold earlier this season. Speaking ahead of a meeting between the two sides, the Liverpool star claimed success at Anfield really meant more on Merseyside.

He said: “We’re up against a machine built to win – that’s the easiest way to describe City and their organisation. Looking back at this era, although they won more titles than us and probably had more success, the trophies will mean more to us and our fans because of the situations at both clubs, financially, the way that both clubs have built their squads and the way we’ve done it probably means more to our fans.

Haaland responded to that claim by slamming Alexander-Arnold for not bagging a hat-trick. The Norwegian said: “If he wants to say that, fine.

“I’ve been here for a year and won the treble. It was quite a nice feeling, I don’t think he knows exactly this feeling. So yeah, that’s what we felt last season and it was pretty nice, so yeah.”
