One person dies on Tube tracks after police called to incident on Northern Line

One person has died on the Tube lines in north London. Police say they were called in the early hours of this morning (Sunday, May 19) to reports of an offender on the tracks.

But one person was pronounced dead at the scene at Colindale station. Police are investigating the circumstances of their deaths. During the response to the incident, police air support was dispatched.




A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman said: “Officers were called to Colindale tube station at 1.18am today (May 19) to assist the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) following reports of a criminal on the rails. Paramedics and the National Police Air Service also attended, however unfortunately one person was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Enquiries are underway to establish the circumstances leading to their deaths.”

Following the incident, there was no service between Golders Green and Edgware. There were also minor delays on the rest of the line.
