HOUSTON (Reuters) – Most Florida ports, including Tampa and Sarasota, were closed to vessel traffic on Tuesday ahead of Hurricane Milton, while South Carolina terminals, including Charleston, began imposing shipping restrictions, US Coast Guard reports showed.

Milton weakened to a Category 4 hurricane, moving east-northeast on Tuesday with maximum sustained winds of 145 miles per hour (230 kph) before making landfall in Florida on Wednesday, the National Hurricane Center said.
