Geneva, Switzerland, 9 October 2024 – TRON DAO was proud to host the TRON Builder Tournament at Columbia University with Blockchain in Colombia and Boston University Blockchain on October 5. The TRON Builder Tournament combines hands-on workshops with enriching discussions, connecting students, developers and mentors.

Previously, TRON DAO held successful TRON Builder Tour events at prestigious institutions such as MIT, Cornell, Princeton and Harvard, fostering deeper connections and advancing blockchain knowledge within academic communities.

TRON Builder Tour: Columbia Stop

The TRON Builder Tournament hosted a hackathon at Columbia University on October 5th, co-hosted by Blockchain in Colombia and Boston University Blockchain. The 12-hour event attracted over 120 entries from students eager to develop the TRON blockchain. Participants included individuals from prestigious institutions such as Harvard, Boston University, NYU, Berkeley, Columbia, University of Waterloo and Princeton. Longtime developers and early builders from the TRON community flew in from all over the US to help the students with their projects. Mentors included Dwayne Gordon, founder of a TRON community project, Eder Teixeira, a TRON Super Representative, and Wes Jorgensen from Boston Blockchain University. blockchain space.

During the hackathon, students developed decentralized applications (dApps) in four tracks: DeFi, Artistry, Integration and Web3. The top three projects in each track received their share of the grand prize.

The integration track

The integration track prompts participants to integrate advanced protocols into the TRON ecosystem, prompting them to incorporate existing protocols, dApps or services on TRON/BTTC into their applications. Participants create impactful features/tools to improve applications in the TRON/BTTC ecosystems. The winners of the integration track are as follows:

Web3 Track
