Tottenham vs Sheffield Utd Player Ratings – Superb Kulusevski, Impressive Son and Brilliant Porro

Tottenham completed their 2023/24 Premier League season on Sunday afternoon with a 3-0 win over Sheffield United at Bramall Lane. The result means Spurs finish the campaign in fifth place and qualify for the 2024/25 Europa League.

After Tuesday night’s 2-0 defeat against Man City, Ange Postecoglou made a change to the Spurs XI, with Dejan Kulusevski replacing Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. The Swede, who started in the middle of Tottenham’s front three, would have a key say in the game in the 14th minute when he found the net with a darting drive that gave Wes Foderingham no chance.

He then went close to a second of the contest not long after, but Foderingham was on hand this time to deny him. The goalkeeper continued to frustrate Tottenham, with Son Heung-min, James Maddison and Pedro Porro all denied by Sheffield’s number 18.

The Blades had chances of their own and Tottenham needed Pape Matar Sarr to be on hand to get a crucial deflection off Cameron Archer’s low effort. Spurs then conceded a crucial second goal on the hour, Porro finding the net in style after the ball had fallen kindly on the edge of the area.

It was to get even better for Spurs moments later as Kulusevski grabbed his second of the competition from close range after Maddison’s low cross from the left. Here’s how we rated the Spurs players at Bramall Lane:

Guglielmo Vicario

We didn’t have much to do at times despite Sheffield United creating some very good openings. He went to ground following a challenge on Jayden Bogle in the second half and the home fans booed him every time he was on the ball after that. 6

Pedro Porro
