Spain stocks fall at close of trade; The IBEX 35 was down 0.72% by Investing.com

Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , and sectors propelled shares lower.

At the end in Madrid, it fell by 0.72%.

The best performers of the session were Ferrovial (BME: ), which rose 0.59% or 0.22 points to trade at 37.54 at the close. Meanwhile, Bankinter (BME:) added 0.53% or 0.04 points to end at 7.53 and Mapfre (BME: ) was up 0.50% or 0.01 points to trade at 2.43 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Acciona (BME: ), which fell 4.51% or 5.60 points to 118.50 at the close. Redeia Corporacion SA (BME: ) declined 3.87% or 0.67 points to end at 16.65 and Endesa SA (BME: ) declined 3.54% or 0.69 points to 18.68.

Declining stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 129 to 48, with 34 ending unchanged.

Shares in Mapfre (BME:) rose to 3-year highs; by 0.50% or from 0.01 to 2.43.

Gold futures for December delivery rose 0.65%, or 17.10, to $2,643.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodity trading, crude for November delivery rose 3.06%, or 2.24, to $75.48 a barrel, while the December Brent crude contract rose 3.09% or 2.37, up to $78.95 per barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.12% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP was unchanged 0.02% to 0.84.

US dollar index futures rose 0.03% to 102.73.
