Tottenham secured a place in the Europa League with victory over Sheffield United

Tottenham will play in the Europa League next season after finishing fifth in the Premier League this season.

Spurs needed just a point in their final game of the season away to already-relegated Sheffield United to confirm their fifth-place finish in the table and they did what was required, winning 3-0. Chelsea were putting the pressure on with a good run of results to end the season and they continued on the final day.

The Blues won 2-1 against Bournemouth to make it five in a row to end the campaign, with former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino guiding Chelsea to a sixth-place finish that could lead to Europa League football, depending on what happening in the FA Cup final next weekend.

For Spurs, however, Europa League football is now guaranteed. Dejan Kulusevski scored the only goal of the first half, picking up a loose ball in the Blades area and firing a low effort past Wes Foderingham and wide of the far post.

However, things got much better in the second half as Pedro Porro fired home a thunderbolt from range to make it 2-0, before Kulusevski grabbed his second of the afternoon to make it 3-0.
