Leicester midfielder Praet targets return to Serie A: Maresca taught us so much

Dennis Praet has announced that he will be leaving Leicester City.

The Belgian midfielder admits he only played a small part in their promotion campaign.

He said HLN: “Well, it’s still a victory and a prize, I did my part even if I didn’t play as many minutes as I would have liked. I was part of the team but not 100%, those who played every match have felt feelings of euphoria different from mine.”

Out of contract this summer, Praet said: “Yes, Italy will always be at the top. I played three years at Sampdoria and one at Torino, my best years abroad. The tactics in Italy appeal to me a lot, the year this time I had an Italian coach like Maresca, he impressed me.

“The English players say they’ve never learned so much and I still have the Italian phone number, I’ve never changed it… I’d like to go back to Italy, where I’ve always felt comfortable.”
