Thrift store returns to Ealing Broadway shopping center – EALING.NEWS – The Voice of Ealing 7 towns

Ealing Broadway Shopping Center will be hosting another free clothes swap this weekend (25 May – 26 May 2024).

The clothes swap shop, for adult and children’s clothes in good condition, is a collaboration between Ealing Broadway and recycling partner Love Not Landfill, following an initial partnership in 2018.

In 2023, 1,476 people participated, donating more than 4,500 items, which saved approximately 1.2 tons of clothing from going to landfill.

After donating their clothes, visitors are given tokens to spend on other items in the swap shop.

The event will take place at the following times:

  • Saturday 25 May 2024 10am – 4pm: Locals can drop off their pre-loved good quality clothes outside Flying Tiger and receive up to five tokens to spend the next day.
  • Sunday 26 May 2024 10am – 4pm: Visitors can view donated items and take home up to five items using tokens provided the day before.

Andrew Rollings, Center Director at Ealing Broadway, said: “Community and sustainability are key priorities for us at Ealing Broadway, so it was brilliant to see how popular the clothes swap was last year, as well as the latest pre-loved uniforms. month. We look forward to continuing to host them throughout the year and supporting the community by offering a range of pre-loved new items before summer.”

As well as donating on the day, as throughout the year, visitors can donate pre-loved items to the two Love Not Landfill clothes banks in Ealing Broadway, which are located near the entrance to St. Saviour’s Walk and on the first floor. in the center.
