The Caribbean heatwave is set to bring searing temperatures to Coventry

A jet stream from the Caribbean is set to bring a heatwave to Britain in just days. Temperatures are set to rise between Thursday, May 30 and Sunday, June 2, according to forecasts from WXCharts and Netweather.

The Midlands, including our area, as well as Norwich and London were predicted to be the hottest, BirminghamLive reported. Forecasts, which use Met Desk data, show that while these areas could see highs of 23C. Wales and SW England will only reach around 17C.




The Met Office’s long-term forecast for May 24 to June 2 reads: “Most likely an unsettled start to the period with showers in the west and perhaps longer spells of rain in the north-east, although still some steady time in between” .

Thunder could be on its way

According to the Met Office’s latest online forecast for our area, it shows that we will see more sunshine today (May 20). But tomorrow (May 21) there could be thunder, with rain set to move in.
