Man ‘spits blood’ at police officer after takeaway ‘assault’

A man has been charged with a number of offenses following a police manhunt in Nuneaton after a fast food restaurant worker was allegedly assaulted. Police were called to a report of a man arguing with a member of staff at an unnamed fast food restaurant on Queens Road in Nuneaton.

The man allegedly assaulted a member of staff before leaving the premises. Police carried out a search and officers made an arrest on the Hillary Road bridge.



The man was verbally abusive and threatening to officers while in custody and allegedly attempted to hit and punch two officers. He then allegedly spat blood into the faces of the five officers who were trying to detain him.

Daniel Campbell, 30, of Beechwood Road in Nuneaton, was charged with threatening or abusive words and behaviour, five counts of assaulting a police officer and one count of possession of cannabis.

He will next appear at Coventry Magistrates Court on September 19.
