Police said the shots fired at the Solihull properties were “an isolated incident”.

Several shots were fired at properties on two Solihull streets, with police making three arrests. Shots were fired in Rover Drive in Smiths Wood and also two and a half miles away in Kingshurst Way in Kingshurst on Bank Holiday Monday night (May 6). No injuries were reported.

West Midlands Police attended the incidents and made three arrests, a 29-year-old woman, a 31-year-old man and a second man, aged 34 – all arrested at a property in Birmingham. The three were arrested on suspicion of possession of firearms and remain in custody.




The force said the firearms incidents were “isolated” and said the general public were not at risk. Officers remain in the area gathering evidence and carrying out further enquiries.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: “Three people have been arrested after shots were fired at addresses in Solihull last night. A 31-year-old man, a 29-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man were arrested in the early hours of this morning after shots were fired in Rover Drive and Kingshurst Way.

“We attended and identified the three, who were arrested a short time later at an address in Birmingham. Officers remain at the scene to collect evidence and carry out further enquiries.

“All three were arrested on suspicion of possession of firearms and remain in custody. We want to reassure the public that this was an isolated incident with no cause for wider concern in the community. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.”
