Leeds United winger Jack Harrison has seen his loan spell at Everton come to an end, but Toffees director of football Kevin Thelwell has revealed plans to see him return permanently.

Leeds have one game left in their season to secure promotion to the Premier League, heading to Wembley for the play-off final where they face Southampton.

Returning to the first tier of the first question would be a huge boost for the 49ers in the transfer window, knowing that they will have much more power in the exits.

Jack Harrison confirmed for Everton post-loan talks

After the final day of the Premier League season on Sunday, Jack Harrison’s loan spell with Everton came to an end, helping them avoid relegation worries despite two point deductions.

With that, the club’s official website confirm that the winger’s loan is coming to an end and he will return to Elland Road as things stand.

Director of Football Kevin Thelwell’s update on the 27-year-old indicates their intentions to bring Harrison in permanently could hinge on Sunday’s play-off final:

“Thanks also to Arnaut and Jack for their part in the progress our senior men’s team has made this season under Sean and his coaching staff. We will continue discussions with Leeds regarding Jack’s future in the coming weeks.”

Harrison has made 29 league appearances for Everton this season, with three goals and three assists, his last involvement in goal coming against Tottenham at the start of February.

Harrison’s permanent deal would be a big financial boost for Leeds

You can imagine the final playoff result has a bearing on the deal Everton want to pursue with Harrison.

If we move up, we’ll ask the highest possible fee for someone who has a lot of top-flight experience.

It’s a concern though that they’re waiting for our playoff matchup before making up their minds, as there could be a cut-price deal if we stay down.
