Boy arrested in attempted murder investigation after teenager seriously injured in disorder

A boy has been arrested in connection with an attempted murder investigation. A 16-year-old boy was rushed to hospital after the disturbance in Birmingham.

West Midlands Police were called to Belchers Lane, Bordesley Green, on Friday 17 May. A teenager was taken to hospital with a serious arm injury following a disturbance.

A 16-year-old boy was detained on suspicion of attempted murder. Police inquiries are ongoing.

Taking to X, Birmingham police posted: “ARRESTED | We arrested a 16-year-old boy for attempted murder. A 16-year-old boy was taken to hospital with a serious arm injury following a disturbance in Belchers Lane, Birmingham, on Friday. (May 17).

“Following the investigations, we arrested a 16-year-old boy yesterday, being suspected of attempted murder, and he remains in custody for questioning. Anyone with information should contact us via Live Chat on our website or by calling 101 quoting log 2978 of 17/5.”
