Elnora Hill Obituary – Sedley, VA

SEDLEY – Elnora Hicks Hill, 92, departed this life March 11, 2007, at Tandem Nursing Home in Windsor, Virginia. A native of Southampton County, Virginia, she was the widow of James R. Hill. She was a member of Southampton AME Zion Church, Courtland, Va., and its board of deacons. Survivors include five daughters, Julia Mae Hill, Janet Jackson and Jeradine Hill, all of Newport News, VA, Joyce V. Turner of Wakefield, VA and Jessie Davis of Brooklyn, NY; a son, James R. Hill Jr. of Hampton, Va.; 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 17, at noon at Southampton AME Zion Church, Courtland, Va., by the Rev. Christopher Eason, pastor. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. Engram Funeral Home, Courtland, Va., in charge of arrangements.
