Greggs tease new menu item and fans say ‘yes please’

Greggs has teased a new menu item using just three emojis. Fans quickly pieced together the clues and said “yes please.”

Addressing X, the bakery giant posted: “Nothing to see here. No hint to tease a new menu item. Nothing of the sort, no.” The post also contained emojis of a fish, a pointing finger and a sandwich.

“Oh, so the rumors are true,” read one reply. Another asked: “Mayo under the fish fingers and cheese slice on top.” A third simply said, “YES PLEASE!”

“I love a sandwich that shows the fish,” joked one follower. “Shark hand – my favourite,” joked another. A third wrote: “Omg it’s a fish handbread!!! Go in!”

Greggs did not say when the fish finger sandwich would be available, but while the menu was being revamped, some took the opportunity to get their requests in. “The 7,348th day they asked you to bring back the sweet chilli chicken baguette,” said one. Another demanded: “Bring back the meat and potato pie.”
