Live: Paramedics at the scene of serious two-car crash in Falmouth

A major road is expected to be closed for some time following a serious crash between two vehicles this morning, Monday 20 May. Bickland Water Road, in Falmouth, was closed by police after a collision which happened at 11.45am.

One person is being treated at the scene by paramedics, but the extent of their injuries is unknown at this time. Police have warned drivers that the road will be closed for several hours.

A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police advised motorists to avoid the area until emergency services reopened the road. They said: “Police were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving two cars on Bickland Water Road, Falmouth, at around 11.45am today, Monday 20 May.

“Paramedics are treating one person at the scene, but the extent of any injuries is unknown. Local road closures have been put in place and are likely to remain closed for some time. Motorists are advised to avoid the area.

Roads and traffic monitoring website Inrix reports: “Bickland Water Road both ways closed, delays due to serious accident, two vehicles involved between Bosmeor Road and Budock Water stop.”
