Pedestrian hit by van leading to city center road closures

A pedestrian has been hit by a van in Leicestershire, leading to road closures this afternoon (Monday 20 May). Leicestershire Police said the incident, reported at 3.18pm, led to Moat Street, Long Street and Horsewell Lane in Wigston being cordoned off.

The exact location of where the collision occurred has not been disclosed at the time of writing. No further information has been released by the force at this stage as the incident is still ongoing.

The injuries of the people involved in the impact are not known. Congestion built up in the city center as police cordoned off several roads following the incident.
