Live updates as man stabbed in attempted robbery

A man was attacked with a machete by two men on an electric bike and suffered multiple stab wounds.

A Merseyside Police spokesman said: “We can confirm that emergency services are at Brownlow Hill in Liverpool following an attempted robbery and stabbing of a man this afternoon (Monday, May 20).

“Just after 3pm we received a report that a man riding a mountain bike was attacked by two men on an electric motorcycle with a machete. The offenders then left towards Grove Street and were last seen on Mason Street.

“The man was taken to hospital with multiple stab wounds, which are currently being assessed. An investigation is ongoing in the area as officers carry out CCTV, door-to-door inquiries and forensics.”

Merseyside Police confirmed the incident was an attempted robbery and stabbing of a man.

A statement from Merseyside Police is on its way and officers are aware of the incident.

Drivers will be happy to hear that traffic can bypass the site on the busy road. Especially since it’s rush hour.
