Hartshill Quarry Blast Warning issued to locals with six dates revealed

An explosion warning has been issued to locals living near a quarry on the outskirts of Nuneaton. North Warwickshire Borough Council has published a list of all the dates on which blasts are planned at Hartshill Quarry.

This is to give residents advance warning of explosions at the site off Nuneaton Road. They can often be heard and, for some, felt with vibrations in the area. The first is tomorrow (Tuesday, May 22), with the last blast scheduled for Wednesday, June 5.

Hartshill Quarry was formerly known as Jees and Boons Quarry and is a hard rock quarry. Blasting is one of the methods used to extract rock, which is crushed, washed and graded for use in the construction industry.
