Leicester City have sent a transfer message as the fallout from FFP concerns becomes clear

Leicester City face a tough return to the Premier League after winning promotion back to the top flight at the first time of asking.

For much of the 2023/24 Championship campaign, the Foxes were in a class of their own, promising to break a number of league records before a second-half slump saw them claim the title with a game to spare .




However, a big worry for Leicester supporters ahead of their return to the top flight will be a dreaded Premier League points penalty based on player spending before relegation a year ago, and that looks set to color expectations.

Following City’s win at Preston North End, we polled fans about the season just past and the season ahead, asking for their views on the players, the manager, the club and what the future might hold.

And when asked where City could finish in the Premier League with their current squad, 46% of a thousand respondents said just outside the relegation zone, while a further 32% considered the bottom half but comfortably safe.

Among the optimists in the City support, five per cent predicted a top half, but for the pessimists, a further 17 per cent predicted a bottom three finish.
