A man has died after crashing into a motorway barrier near Wakefield

Police are investigating the crash, which happened on Sunday evening (May 19)

A man has died after crashing into the central reservation of a motorway near Wakefield.

The man, who was in his 20s and from Huddersfield. crashed into the barrier after crossing lanes while coming onto the on-ramp of Junction 41 (Wakefield North).

It happened at around 20:25 BST on Sunday 19 May.

Emergency services confirmed he died at the scene and police are now appealing for anyone who saw a gray Ford Ranger traveling from Junction 2 onwards to speak to them.

The man has not been named.
