Registered XL thugs mutilate owner to death in her home

A woman was mauled to death in her own home by two registered XL bully dogs. The victim, aged in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene on Monday (May 20).

Armed police officers were among those who visited the woman’s home in Cornwall Close, Hornchurch, east London, just after 1pm. The two registered dogs were safely seized and kept in a room.

Her family is being supported by officers. From 1 February it became an offense to own the bully XL in England and Wales without an exemption certificate.

Anyone who owns one of the dogs must have the animal neutered, microchipped and keep it muzzled and on a lead in public, among other restrictions. The Government’s move to ban XL thugs followed a spate of attacks on people.
