Change is good – Jurgen Klopp tells Liverpool to embrace future under Arne Slot

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has told Anfield not to stop believing and welcome his successor Arne Slot as they received him as “change is good”.

Speaking at a pitch presentation by owners John W Henry and Tom Werner, chief executive Billy Hogan and Sir Kenny Dalglish after the 2-0 win over Wolves, the German addressed the crowd and offered a positive outlook for the future.

“You welcome your new manager the way you welcomed me. You go all-in from day one. And you keep believing and pushing the team. The change is good,” said Klopp, who sang the name Slot to the tune of one of the songs the crowd sings about him.

“No one tells you to stop believing. This club may be in the best position ever – I didn’t ask Kenny if it ever is: we have this wonderful stadium, wonderful training centre, we have you, the superpower of world football.

“We decide whether we are worried or excited. We decide whether we believe. We decide whether we trust or not and since today I am one of you and I still believe in you.”
