The club confirm that the on-loan star is returning to Leeds United

Aaronson left Elland Road last summer, triggering a clause in his contract to avoid playing in the Championship, and moved on loan to Union Berlin.

The American has featured regularly for the Bundesliga side, making 38 appearances and scoring twice.

However, he does not stay in the German capital.

Union Berlin have confirmed that Aaronson will return to Leeds after his loan spell.

It remains to be seen whether Leeds are keen to hold on to the winger or look to move him on again.

Aaronson has been criticized by some for not having the physicality to cope with Premier League football as he struggled to make an impact at Leeds.

If Leeds win promotion back to the top flight, then Daniel Farke will have to assess his future, or if Leeds miss out on the return, then Aaronson will likely be able to trigger a loan clause again.
