Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has shared his excitement after starring in Leicester City’s English Championship triumph.

The Sporting Lisbon loanee joined the celebrations as the Foxes paraded through the East Midlands city of Leicester.

Issahaku is expected to pen a permanent deal after his outstanding season with Leicester in the English Championship, where he scored six goals and provided 13 assists.

The 20-year-old has become an instant fan favorite and is already preparing for his first spell in the English top flight next season.

Issahaku moved to Europe aged 17 to join Sporting Lisbon, but his struggles to break into the first team saw him move to England last summer, as reported by The Athletic.

Leicester trigger Issahaku’s purchase option

Before, Sports short reported that Ghanaian winger Issahaku will join Leicester City permanently after a successful loan spell with the Premier League returnees.

The 20-year-old has been rewarded with a new contract after playing a key role in helping the Foxes win the Championship and quickly return to the English top flight.

Leicester City triggered the winger’s €17 million option to buy which was part of the terms of his loan deal, as the English outfit had the right to make the youngster’s move permanent.

Issahaku suggests Iheanacho leave

Sports short also reported that Kelechi Iheanacho could leave Leicester City at the end of the season, with his contract set to expire on June 30, 2024.

The Super Eagles striker has reportedly refused to sign a contract extension as Aston Villa show interest in him ahead of the summer transfer window.

Iheanacho and his Leicester City teammates won promotion to the English Premier League after winning the league title.
