Harvey Elliott tells Arne Slot exactly what is to come at Liverpool next season

Liverpool ace Harvey Elliott is expecting more European drama at Anfield next season after the Reds secured a return to the Champions League. Jürgen Klopp’s side sit third with two games to go, away at Aston Villa and against Wolves at home.

Klopp will bow out after that final day clash, with Arne Slot seemingly in pole position to take over. The Dutchman has all but confirmed he will leave Feyenoord at the end of the season and replace Klopp at Liverpool.

The Reds have been in Europa League action this term but will be back in the Champions League in August and Elliott is relishing the opportunity to test himself against the very best once more.

And he has outlined what it is to come under Slot when his appointment is officially confirmed. Elliott told Liverpool’s official website: “With the crowd behind us and the last two games, we want to go out with a bang. We just want to win both of them.

“We have Champions League football next season — it’s where this club belongs and deserves to be. There are going to be more special nights and hopefully we can put it right next season again.”

Elliott added to his goal tally for the season by scoring a stunning long-range strike in the win over Tottenham on Sunday. He also claimed the Player of the Match prize from a deeper role and admitted: “I’ve been practicing it in training and stuff like that. (In) recent games I’ve hit the bar and hit the post and stuff but I’ m just happy it dropped in.
