Jet2 flight ‘grounded’ after health alert

A Jet2 flight faced delays after a passenger was suspected of having chicken pox symptoms. The plane was heading from Alicante to Belfast International Airport.

The airline confirmed that officials from Port Health came aboard flight LS302 to assess the situation. The length of the delay for passengers on board was not specified, but they were later allowed to leave the aircraft and go to the airport.




As reported by Birmingham Live, a Jet2 spokesperson told GB News: “We can confirm that Port Health officials boarded flight LS302 earlier today following reports of a customer showing possible chicken pox symptoms. Customers have now left the aircraft after a short delay and we apologize for any inconvenience.”

In related news, Jet2 recently unveiled several new routes to Bergen in Scandinavia, operating from various UK airports including London Stansted, Bristol, Edinburgh, Birmingham Airport, Manchester Airport, Newcastle and Leeds Bradford.

For 2025, 31 departures are scheduled as Jet2 plans to double its seating capacity.
