UK students protest ‘complicity in genocide’ at Sheffield University

The new Arab visited Sheffield University in the UK last Wednesday as students set up a pro-Palestinian camp.

Protests have been seen at universities in the US, France, Lebanon and beyond amid Israel’s war on Gaza since mid-April.

Local edition of the student news site Tab quoted a university spokesman as saying that “a small number of people pitched tents outside our students’ union as part of a planned protest”.

“We support the right of our students to express their views peacefully and within the limits of the law, and planned activities on campus will continue as normal,” the spokesperson added.
