Man stabbed to death in Palmers Green

The Metropolitan Police have launched a murder investigation after 50-year-old man died after being stabbed in Millicent Grove

A murder investigation is underway after a fatal stabbing in Palmers Green.

Police were called at around 12.30am this morning (Tuesday 7) to reports of a man stabbed at an address in Millicent Grove.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police and the London Ambulance Service attended. Despite the efforts of the paramedics, the man, over 50 years old, died on the spot.

His next of kin have been informed and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course. A 16-year-old boy was also treated for stab wounds; his condition is not considered serious.

A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and grievous bodily harm. He remains in custody at a north London police station. A homicide remains in effect and the investigation is ongoing.

Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Lee of the Met’s specialist crime command is leading the investigation and said: “I understand the shock that such an incident will cause the local community and I want to thank them for their patience while we carried out our work at scene.

“Everyone involved was known to each other, an arrest has been made and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.

“Residents will continue to see both specialists and local officers in and around the location over the coming days; if you have any concerns or information that you think might help, please speak to them, contact your local police team or call 101.”
