The Met Office is issuing a new 30-hour rain warning as Coventry braces for a drenching

The Met Office has issued a 30-hour yellow rain warning as Coventry braces for a drenching. The alert comes into effect from just after midnight tomorrow (22 May) and lasts until 6am on Thursday 23 May.

Coventry and Warwickshire are among the areas covered by the yellow warning for heavy rain issued on the Met Office website. It was said that there might be “some flooding and travel disruptions” due to forecast heavy rains.

The yellow rain warning not only covers our area, but extends to the north of the country as a band of rain moves in. It’s in stark contrast to the scorching weather we saw over the weekend.

The rest of the week will be a mix of sun and showers as we head into the bank holiday weekend. The latest local forecasts from the MET for our area so far show cloudy skies with highs of 19C on Bank Holiday Monday.

But the forecast warns of “unsettled weather” over the bank holiday weekend.
