£12m upgrade emerges as Leeds United plan for swift transfer after Wembley – Report

£12m upgrade emerges as Leeds United plan for swift transfer after Wembley – Report

Leeds United are planning to sign Joe Rodon permanently if they make it through the play-off final on Sunday, with the centre-back prioritizing a stay at Elland Road.

The Whites are just days away from their biggest game of the season as they take on Southampton at Wembley, looking to emulate their semi-final second leg performance against Norwich City.

Victory for Leeds would create an extremely interesting transfer window in preparation for a return to the Premier League.

Joe Rodon could be available for £12m in the summer

TEAMtalk report this week that Leeds’ plans are to make Joe Rodon a permanent signing if they are promoted at Wembley on Sunday.

Tottenham are likely to be receptive to selling their £11m 2020 signing from Swansea City and it is claimed that Leeds would bring a profit to Spurs.

The report suggests that an asking price of £12m, which rises to £15m in add-ons, is likely to do the trick for Leeds this summer.

Premier League clubs are ‘alert’ to the Welshman’s availability, so only promotion would allow Leeds to land Rodon.

Playoff Final: Leeds United v Southampton predictions

Rodon’s transfer position at Leeds United for this summer has been revealed

As for what Rodon thinks about a permanent move to Elland Road, he is ready to move to LS11 long-term if the Whites are promoted.

He is said to have made staying in West Yorkshire his priority for the summer window, hopefully helping the team win at Wembley on Sunday.

Rodon would be a must if we are promoted this week

He has been outstanding for us this season and I expect him to be our first signing out the door if we win on Sunday.

We need to ensure that our solid defense this season is kept intact for the Premier League or even improved.

That means we have to get Rodon on the hook straight away and you can imagine that would be a formality after the weekend if all goes to plan.

Quiz: Remember Leeds United’s last 15 results against Southampton before the play-off final?
