Orphaned ducklings rescued from the M4 near Swindon

Nine orphaned ducklings have been rescued by police after they were found on a motorway.

Wiltshire Police were called to reports of animals on the M4 near Swindon on Monday.

When armed police arrived, they found the mother duck was dead, but nine ducklings had survived their highway ordeal.

They were later taken to the RSPCA Oak and Furrows Wildlife Rescue Center in Cricklade to be cared for.
