The Coventry store most recently moved to a new site to make way for City Center South

A Coventry shop has moved ahead of its existing site being demolished as part of the multi-million euro City Center South regeneration project. ShopMobility has moved from Barracks Car Park to Greyfriars Lane.

ShopMobility hires mobility equipment for the public so that people with reduced mobility can visit the city centre, Coventry City Council said. It also offers facilities for people with profound disabilities in its new Changing Places toilet.

Customers can find the new ShopMobility next to Salt Lane Car Park. It was built by The Hill Group and funded by the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA).

ShopMobility will continue to provide an excellent and essential service to people like me and it’s a pleasure to be here today as part of the celebrations.”

Manager Jo Sanders added: “I would like to thank The Hill Group, Coventry City Council and the WMCA for creating this fabulous new space for us in Coventry. We opened our doors to the general public on Tuesday 7 May and have already welcomed many new and returning customers to use these essential services.”
