Live: Rush hour jams Cornwall’s main road

A major A road in Cornwall is currently closed due to a two vehicle crash this afternoon (Tuesday 21 May). The A39 near Wadebridge is partially blocked eastbound ahead of rush hour.

Road and traffic monitoring website Inrix first reported the accident at 5.03pm. It read: “A39 eastbound blocked, heavy traffic due to accident, two vehicles involved between Hals’ Grave Junction and The Royal Cornwall Showground stop.”




A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police said there were several emergency services at the scene. They said: “Police were called to a two-car collision on the A39 at Whitecross, Wadebridge at 4.50pm today, Tuesday 21 May.

“The road is partially blocked. The fire department was also called.”

A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police said:

Police were called to a two-car collision on the A39 at Whitecross, Wadebridge, at 4.50pm today, Tuesday 21 May.

The road is partially blocked.

The fire department was also called.
