Tottenham secured a fifth-place finish and Europa League qualification with victory over Sheffield United.

Dejan Kulusevski scored a brace as Spurs ended their first season under Ange Postecoglou at Bramall Lane.

Ben Brereton Diaz hit the bar early on but Kulusevski put Spurs ahead in the 14th minute when he finished well from a tight angle after good play in the build-up of Micky van de Ven.

Wes Foderingham was in inspired form in goal for Sheffield United and the hosts almost equalized when Cameron Archer fired wide when he should have scored.

It was 2-0 early in the second half when James Maddison was blocked, Foderingham made a good save and Pedro Porro was on hand to fire into the roof of the net.

Kulusevski added a third goal with the second when he opened his body to turn in a cross from Maddison.

Andre Brooks was red-carded for a push on Heung-min Son’s run, but referee Andrew Madley was referred to the pitch monitor by VAR and overturned his decision.

The win saw Spurs finish three points clear of sixth-placed Chelsea and just two points clear of fourth-placed Aston Villa after being trashed at Crystal Palace.
