Roads closed after explosions heard in Cornwall

Electrical explosions were heard at roadworks in Cornwall this morning (Wednesday 22 May). Emergency services were called to Holly Close, Threemilestone, at 10.40am.

Police closed the road to ensure the site was safe before leaving until 11.35am. It has been confirmed that no one was injured in the incident.




Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Police were called by firefighters at 10.40am today, Wednesday 22 May, to reports of electrical explosions at roadworks in Holly Close, Threemilestone.

“No injuries were reported. Officers attended to assist with road closures but had left the scene by 11.35am. National Grid is on site to assess the situation and carry out repairs.”
