The major managerial absence for Manchester City’s Premier League clash with Everton has been revealed

Everton manager Sean Dyche will be missing from the touchline for Saturday’s Premier League clash with Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

Manchester City have the opportunity to go top of the Premier League table with a win over Everton this weekend, with Pep Guardiola’s side enjoying a formidable recent record against the Toffees.

The Sky Blues have won 12 of their last 13 meetings with Everton and have not lost against the Merseyside club since a 4-0 defeat at the Etihad Stadium in January 2017.

Phil Foden, Julian Alvarez and Bernardo Silva were all on the scoresheet during a 3-1 win at Goodison Park in December, with the victory part of Manchester City’s current 12-match unbeaten run.

City, who beat Brentford 3-1 on Monday night to move within two points of league leaders Liverpool, face three consecutive Premier League home games starting with Saturday’s match against Everton.

The Toffees have fallen into the relegation zone after a six-game winless run in the Premier League, with Everton also facing the prospect of another points deduction for financial fair play breaches.

However, Sean Dyche’s side secured a vital point last weekend by drawing 2-2 with Tottenham Hotspur after a last-gasp equaliser.

The Everton manager will miss Saturday’s game at the Etihad Stadium, but Dyche is set to serve a one-match touchline ban for accumulating three yellow cards.

Dyche was shown his third yellow card of the season against Spurs last weekend by referee Michael Oliver.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has also served a ban this season, with the Catalan absent from the touchline for a 2-1 defeat to Wolves in September.
