Tribute to the wonderful husband and father who died in a motorcycle accident

Tributes have been paid to a loving Cornwall husband and father who tragically died following a motorbike accident near Truro. Nigel Cullen, 57, suffered fatal injuries in the crash, involving a car and a motorbike, on the B3275 near Truro on Monday (May 20).

Nigel’s wife Lucy described her husband as “the most thoughtful, kind and generous man”. In a tribute today (May 22), she said: ‘On Monday 20th May my wonderful husband Nigel, much loved father to our two young children, went for a motorbike ride on a beautiful morning of spring and never came home. He tragically died in a road accident in the Ladock Valley, near Truro.

“The most thoughtful, kind and generous man, Nigel adored his family and we adored him. It is unbearable to think about life without “Daddy”. A loving husband, father, son and brother, he was endlessly caring in all his actions, holding my hand through everything in life.”

The statement continued: “Now, when I need him most, he is not here. It’s absolutely heartbreaking, but I am so grateful feel that through our children he will always be with us.

“Nigel has worked incredibly hard all his life. He has had many careers including project manager, flight instructor, air ambulance first officer and most recently small business owner. After we moved to Cornwall, Nigel followed his passion for coffee and in 2019 set up Bear Cornwall, serving specialty coffee and home baking from a vintage Citroen van near St Mawes Castle.

“His loss will be felt throughout our community. Everyone knew and loved him and his team; the man with the big heart and the best boss, who made the best coffee on Roseland.

“We will miss him for the rest of our lives.”
