Cheetahs are now born at Yorkshire Wildlife Park

Four cheetah cubs have been born at Yorkshire Wildlife Park in Doncaster.

It comes just nine months after mum Darcy, who arrived from a zoo in Ireland, was introduced to the park.

She gave birth on May 13.

The park’s director of animals, Dr Charlotte Macdonald, said: “We are incredibly excited about the arrival of the cheetah cubs. It happened much sooner than we dared to hope”.

Cheetahs are considered a vulnerable species, with only an estimated 7,100 left in the wild.

Darcy, a northern cheetah, arrived in Doncaster with dad Brooke in August 2023 and the pair were gradually introduced.

Although the four cubs will not yet be introduced to the park’s Cheetah Territory, visitors can see them on camera.
