Transfer news: Man Utd ‘take Erik ten Hag decision’ as Liverpool deal approved | Football | Sports

Manchester United icon Dwight Yorke believes the club must avoid another young striker like Rasmus Hojlund this summer.

Instead, he urged United to make a move for Victor Osimhen, who could leave Napoli if his £86million release clause is met.

Yorke has also tipped Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins as a worthy target as Erik ten Hag has fresh firepower.

“I think United should go for the Napoli boy, (Victor) Osimhen. I think he stands out as the ideal number 9 at the moment, or the most established,” Yorke told Express Sport on behalf of Crypto . Casino.

“I think Ollie Watkins is someone I would (also) consider. But in addition, I think that position no. 9 is a dying breed these days. You need a hungry number 9, someone who wants to prove himself (while being) little known.

“(The Premier League) is a difficult league to come into if you haven’t played in it, (especially if you join) a team that hasn’t played that great. You need a big personality in that position because it’s a key. position, right?

“Quite often if you win the Premier League or do something remarkable, the No. 9 is very crucial. You can’t expect a young player to come in and do that.

“I’ve seen that with Rasmus Hojlund. I’ve seen the struggle with him. So I wouldn’t go for the young guy. I’d go and sign someone a little more established. Osimhen would be my choice.”
