The name of the new Harborside Lounge bar has been revealed ahead of its summer opening

A new sign will be erected outside a Harborside bar which will soon be taken over under new plans recently submitted. Every week, Bristol City Council receives dozens of planning applications seeking permission for a range of developments.

In the past seven days, those applications have also included the repair of a historic village hall and the conversion of a small house into a large shared house. Here’s this week’s roundup of notable planning applications submitted to the council.

Every week dozens are validated by the local authority and we have selected some of the most interesting proposals. All planning applications submitted to the council must be validated and are available for public inspection. Anyone is also allowed to submit comments on the applications, either in support or objection.

Most applications are decided by council planning officers under delegated powers. However, some will go before elected councilors who sit on planning committees. No dates have been set for the determination of the planning applications below. These can be viewed by accessing the planning portal on Bristol City Council’s website.

New sign that the Harborside bar has been taken over

A new sign could be put up outside a Harborside bar. Pitcher & Piano on Bordeaux Quay closed last month and looks set to reopen under a new name: Ritorno Lounge. The bar has been taken over by Loungers, which already owns a number of cafes in Bristol, such as the Lounge on North Street in Bedminster.
